As we all know, there are many forms of engaging through Social Media. Some you may like more than others. However one of the better ways to engage and actually rectify your brand is through the world of Blogging. You know, sometimes when marketers even mention the word Blog to their current or potential clients, they freak. Why? Being a digital marketer myself, i know that blogging is an excellent way to excel in your brand, however why is it mainly neglected by many? There could be many reasons, however one of the top questions I get asked is… How is one always able to come up with content? I know there are many out there who get insane writer’s block to the point where their blog just becomes non-existent. To be quite frank, I’ve been there and done that. There are many times when I have experienced insane writer’s block and my mind just goes completely blank. So don’t worry, you are not alone. With that being said, I am hoping that this post will help many of you whenever that blank writer’s moment comes into play once more.
So, million dollar question…how does one come up with content? There are a few things that can help.
- Think back to your meetings with potential clients. What questions did they ask you about your business that seems to get make them confused? Blog about it. Answer their question(s) thoroughly in your Blog. After all, if they asked the question, more often than not, someone else is wondering the same thing. Stop their wonder.
- Research the current trends in your industry. Do a Google search, read a book, read an article… There is no doubt that something interesting will pop up during your search that is worth blogging about. Quick example, say you are in the fashion industry… There are always tons of new and different fashion trends that are popping up in every nook and cranny of the Internet. Many coming from L.A., Italy, New York, etc. Write a post about those trends. In order to get the right information, a click on the Homepage is made. The purchasing of the subscribers is done with intelligence to get the desired results.
- Pay attention to what is going on around you every single day. Maybe you came across a situation or something along those lines that you have a strong opinion about. Blog about it. Using the fashion example once again, you may notice someone wearing a pair of shoes or a blazer that is totally unique or maybe they are the color trend of the season…whatever the case, I am sure there is something worth mentioning on your blog. Write about it and share it with the world.
There you have it. Hopefully these ideas help you so that you never have to suffer through writer’s block again. Now, if you are absolutely stumped about what to write about in your industry, here’s an easy way out solution for you: Do an Internet search about blog topics surrounding your industry. I can almost guarantee a topic will spark your interest.

It’s what helps your credibility and solidifies your brand awareness of you as the expert. If you lose that, then where will you be? Social Media, blogging included, is at the turn of the century and becoming more and more engaging as each day passes. Remain consistent with all aspects of the digital world and you’ll be ahead of the times.
